Polymer clay Christmas tree toy

Toys for a Christmas tree made of polymer clay are good because they are relatively light, and from the material itself you can dazzle anything: from traditional flat figures to beautiful compositionally thought-out decorations. The clay itself is variable in color, and if you do not have enough colors to create a toy, you can always paint the product with acrylics. In this master class, we will demonstrate how to make a toy in the form of a Christmas tree out of polymer clay and demonstrate how to give it the appropriate texture.

To create a polymer clay Christmas tree toy, prepare:

  • clay itself;
  • cardboard;
  • green and black paint;
  • red and white beads;
  • sequins;
  • thread or tape;
  • rolling pin;
  • a small knife;
  • chopping board;
  • scissors;
  • brush;
  • sticks of hot glue with a thermogun;
  • tweezers;
  • a toothpick.

Step 1. Cut out a triangle from paper, which will become a template for making a Christmas tree toy.

Step 2. On a cutting board, roll out a piece of polymer clay. The thickness of the rolled pancake should be about 2 mm.

Step 3. Attach a cardboard template to the rolled pancake and for one Christmas tree, cut out two such triangles at once.

Step 4. Make a tree trunk. To do this, roll polymer clay around a small piece of wire or clove, which is used to make earrings. Please note that the top of the tree trunk should be slightly thinner than the bottom.

Step 5. Place the formed tree trunk between two blank triangles. Gently press the triangles together, and bend the loop or wire in the upper part with a loop. It will be needed for mounting.

Step 6. Scissors will help to give the Christmas tree texture and form paws. Cut the clay blank with them. If you have scissors with several blades - excellent, then your slices will definitely be even and parallel, and the Christmas tree will turn out neat. Let the clay toy dry thoroughly.

Step 7. Paint the Christmas tree toy with green and black colors. Paint on both sides, gently staining all the protrusions and indentations. Let the paint dry completely.

Step 8. Now you can start decorating your toy. To do this, gently glue beads and sequins to it. Upstairs you can stick a small decorative star.

Step 9. Pass a thread or ribbon into the connecting ring. Tie them up.

On this your Christmas tree toy is ready. You can decorate it with your big Christmas tree.
